The ride itself will take guests into the heart of chocolate factory onboard the famous glass lifts that were immortalized in the children's classic. Highlights include traveling down the chocolate river and a look into the mysterious inventing room. Visitors will have to make sure they heed the warnings from the Oompa-Loompas or they could end up like the unfortunate Veruca Salt!
While the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride may be for those who enjoy life at a slightly slower pace, the new "Stealth" ride at Thorpe Park is certainly not for the faint-hearted! Traveling to dizzying heights of 205ft the ride accelerates from 0-80mph in 2.3 seconds and hits a massive top speed of 128kph - which beats the Alton Towers ride "Rita : Queen of Speed" by a full 28kph!
